Finishing up my sixth day at work before my couple days off, I have been neglecing to update everyone on how my week has been going. Imagine that, all this new free time and I still have not enough time in the day for all the ideas racing through my head. The last week we've had some game nights, went ice skating (I'm still recovering from the wipe outs), and got in a few adventures. I'd like to say with this New Year we've got some new tuk scores. Girls are now leading 3 to 2 (which is a huge deal, from the verbal abuse we threw back and forth with the guys).
This morning I showed up to work half an hour early, this I didn't even realize until it was too late to book it out of their. My boss is also on this kick that "we aren't busy enough to schedule everybody for the day", so as three of us where trying to handle a line that was out the door you can only imagine that I of course dropped the entire container of dried blueberries, spilled my espresso shot, spilled boiling tea water onto my foot, and smeared cream cheese down my leg. I was such a glorious sight that even our regulars kindly told me I looked like hell!
As for yesterday I got off work a tad bit early (when I say early I mean like 20 minutes early), so I packed up my dog, my camera, my friend Sam and her son and headed up to the Grand Mesa. Which for those of you that have never been to Colorado, it's like my home away from home, a little piece of Alaska smack dab in the middle of Colorado.
We stopped at Mesa Lakes, had to escalade over this wall of snow and trek our way through the trails to this little bridge that I just adore. After falling in the snow, sinking in the snow, and peeing in the snow I captured some beautiful pictures that, if i say so myself, are damn near perfection. My camera and I have been off and on friends lately. I refuse to use my auto settings (on my Cannon T5i) and am determined to master my manual settings to capture every adventure I can. And well...yesterday was the perfect day to put my skills to the test.

After our adventure around Mesa Lakes we stopped at a little coffee shop on our way home to get some hot chocolate. Looked at the pictures I took and googled some new adventures to add to our list! I then went home and made some honey garlic crunch chicken and rice for dinner. Which is a recipe I think many of you would enjoy. I hope you have a beautiful day filled with many adventures!
